The letter was from Elizabeth in Mexico... 3 of the sides had been opened and the contents of the letter was missing, looks like someone else was more interested in seeing what was inside :( This is the first time it's ever happened to me, has this ever happened to you?
In other news, I haven't had any time to reply to letters lately. When I finish doing my college work I'm either too tired to start writing a letter or just not in the mood :( Here is a letter from Henderica in the Netherlands, next to a biscuit I was eating...
From Catalina in Germany, she also sent two diddl pages for me to use. :)
From my dearest, Eleftheria in Greece. <3
and finally, a lovely letter from Cheryl in Scotland. I hadn't heard from her in a while so it was a nice surprise :)

OH MY GOOD, I want to cry now... :(
ReplyDeleteAww so sad your letter got open and arrived empty! (Especially because it was from Ely and she always send the sweetest things..) Anyway it happened to me a couple of times too, and everytime I went at the post office to ask for explanations, they'd just say that some countries process mail with some machines that can accidentally tear up the paper.. I mean, who are they kidding? But still, I hope it won't happen again, it's just so sad. x
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of machines can do so perfect cut without damaging the inside? And if so ... where is my letter!? I cant with the idea of somebody open it and then ohh, so bored and do nothing with the letter. :c
DeleteI'm sorry the letter got opened! :(
ReplyDeleteThis happened me once with a parcel too! It arrived opened, in a bag like yours, and with a note saying it had been opened at the border. It made me sad!

It happened to me once. The package was opened and none of the original stuff was inside. It happened with the Royal Mail. Maybe they have a thief working there.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is really cool! I'm snailmailer too and I enjoy visiting blog about letters and mail.

Wow, I've never actually gotten a ripped letter before.. it's happened a few times that letters or postcards haven't arrived at all, and I once got a package where one side was more or less shredded, but never part of an envelope. I think it's sweet that you get them in a bag with an apology though, they'd never do that here :(
